Litter Locker Review and Giveaway

Before we moved to Halifax, I knew we’d need to make adjustments in many parts of our lives. After all, we were going from a three-bedroom house with a yard in the country to a 2-bedroom apartment in the middle of the city. One of the things that definitely needed to be addressed as how we managed our pets, particularly our kitties.

Our kitties, Mia and Daisy.

Our kitties, Mia and Daisy.

I love our two cats, but I knew that having two indoor cats in such a small space was going to be a challenge. Keeping cat hair under control was one issue, but the other one was dealing with their litter situation. In the house, we kept two litter boxes in the pass-through between the kitchen and the garage. Having two litter boxes meant I didn’t have to clean them very often, which was good, because cleaning litter boxes is gross.

I knew that this wouldn’t be an option once we moved and space was at a premium, so I set out Googling a way to stick to a single litter box but improve the cleaning process so that it wouldn’t be so unpleasant. I also didn’t want to spend $200 on an automatic litter box, because hey, I’m frugal like that. Enter: the Litter Locker.

This product is basically a way to store used litter that isn’t disgusting. It takes the ick factor out of having an indoor cat, and makes cleaning a single litter box every day almost a pleasure. Here’s how it works:

Sounds pretty straight forward right? This is exactly what I was looking for, but I was concerned that it wouldn’t perform the way commercial said it would. Fortunately I was able to get one to review, and I’m happy to report it has changed my life!

Mia thinks it’s pretty swell too.

The Litter Locker came with one plastic bag cartridge and a scoop that fits on the side of the canister. It was easy to set up and I love that the scoop has its own pocket, so I’m not setting the scoop on a surface and then soiling that surface. Once I started using it, I was impressed with how well it worked. There really is no odour whatsoever, and the system makes cleaning the litter box every day a breeze. Since I’ve started using the Litter Locker I’ve eliminated the two litter box setup and am now only using one, but it’s ten times more sanitary than our previous situation.

The Litter Locker is a Must-Have for Small Space Cat Owners

Got a cat in an apartment? Hate cleaning the litter box? Hate the grains of litter that inevitably end up everywhere? Hate dealing with the smell? Get a litter locker. All of these problems will be erased, and to be honest, it’ll make emptying the litter box every day kind of fun.

The best part? It takes up no space! Here’s our litter set up in the old house. In the new apartment, the litter locker actually sits on top of a box of new litter in the laundry room, so it still takes up very little space.

Two kitties + one litter box + one litter locker = one happy blogger.
